Physical Therapists, or P.T.s, are health care professionals who evaluate and treat people with health problems resulting from injury or disease. Physical Therapy offers a broad spectrum of services. P.T.s assess joint motion, muscle strength and endurance, function of heart and lungs, and performance of activities required in daily living, among other responsibilities. It is not uncommon for the general public to think of physical therapists as individuals who only work with broken bones or professional athletes.
